There is no law prohibiting you from changing lanes in the middle of an intersection but, it is considered to be an unnecessary risk therefore we recommend against it. However, it is illegal to pass another vehicle in an intersection which is a form of lane changing. Consequently, we believe that this is where most people obtained the misconception that it is illegal to change lanes in the middle of an intersection.
