Can I leave a child unattended in a vehicle?

Answer:

It is illegal to leave a child six (6) years of age or younger unattended in a motor vehicle unless accompanied by someone 12 years or older when there are conditions that present a significant risk to the child’s health or safety. A few examples are, leaving a child in a car on a very hot day, leaving a child while the vehicle’s engine is still running or, leaving the keys in the ignition.
